Considering that I'm still drafting posts for this week and haven't managed to do any visiting yet, I'm going to say it's a bit too soon to count any chickens. Happy New Year from Because Challenges! To support you in your Bookish Resolutions this year we'll have weekly Task It Tuesday posts. This is a great way to keep you accountable to your goals -- and if you aren't joining us for the Bookish Resolutions Challenge, you can still join us in making your to-do lists and getting things done.

Does the new year bring lots of new goals for you? Or do you recommit to old goals? I'm not one for New Years Resolutions, since I really try to set new goals each month, each week and each day. Which is probably why I'm such a big #bujo fan :)

I did, however, sign-up for Bookish Resolutions, with some pretty basic goals. And I'm using Task It Tuesday to keep me accountable to those goals.

Berls's Bookish Resolutions:

Post at least one time a week

Visit Blogs at least one time a week

Work on something for one of our challenges at least one time a week

How I did:

Last week I really felt inspired to get a lot of blogging done. This is BIG since I haven't felt that motivated in a long time. I spent several hours blogging on Monday (12/31) and managed to post 3 personal posts last week. I also two challenge posts last week, not to mention this Task Me Tuesday post (which is challenge related).

Visiting is my blogging Achilles Heel - but I've determined that Sundays is blog day. So I spent time visiting blogs this past Sunday. So I'm off to a great start!

Anthologies are so tempting. Most of them are on sale for like 99 cents and you think 22 books for 99 cents! Yes, please! Then you one click it and now have 22 anthologies sitting on your kindle that you have’t read yet. I know how that feel so I had an idea. What if we made reading those anthologies a challenge?

Pick one or two maybe 6 anthologies that you want to read this year and get them read! Sometimes those anthologies contain your next favorite author.

Here are the rules…

Challenge runs from Jan 1st to December 31st. You have until May 1st to sign up but must be signed up otherwise the anthologies will not count. So if you sign up in may any anthologies read before time will not count.

Decide what number of anthologies you want to tackle this year. You don’t need to list which anthologies you want to read (unless you want to) just the number.

Sign up with a blog post, facebook, twitter, instagram or even goodreads and link it below.

YOU MUST read the entire anthology for it to count, also you must review the anthology. The reviews will be in the kick off post, so you can link up throughout the year. You’ll earn points in the giveaway widget based on the length of the anthology you read. The longer the anthology, the greater the points. For example, below 500 pages is one point, 501 to 1000 pages is two points etc.

At the end of the challenge you have a chance to win one of two $5 gift cards to amazon so you can buy more anthologies for next year. ;)

Pretty simple, just read those anthologies that you were hoping to get to and the best part is you have all year to get through them.

Twice during the year there will be an update post to see how you are doing. Make sure to follow Because Challenges or follow the hashtag #bookologies on twitter to get more information or to find out when the updates will be posted.

Register for your spring semester reading assignment classes!

This year you'll be registering for classes that fit your reading goals. And the best part? You're only registering for a semester at a time! The spring semester is January - May 2019. You'll come back in May to register for your summer classes (June-August 2019). And again in August to register for your fall classes (September - December). You can register for the same classes all year if you want, but you can also switch it up, depending on your life and goals.

Meet your professors

Professor AuthorLuv

Professor AuthorLuv used to have her own school, where her students we're required to pick a favorite author and commit to reading all their books over the course of a year (aka The AuthorLuv Challenge). She's decided to make her life a little easier and just host some classes here instead. She still wants you to pick a favorite author and commit to reading a certain number of books by that author each month, but she's letting you set your number based on the level course you sign up for.

AuthorLuv Beginner Class (credits: 1) - In the beginner's course your committing to reading one book a month by your chosen author. Professor AuthorLuv will have to give you an F for anything less.

AuthorLuv Intermediate Class (credits: 2) - In the intermediate course your committing to reading two books a month by your chosen author. You'll get an A if you read 2 books by that author all 5 months, a B if you read 2 books 4 of the months, a C if you read 2 books 3 of the months, and a D if you read 2 books 2 of the months.
If you joined Bookish Resolutions this year you would have noticed that it completely disappeared.
No updates. No tweets. Nothing. During the event sometime in the beginning of the year my co-host became a popular author, leaving her little time for blogging. I am super proud of her, but since I also dropped the ball, the challenge just didn’t really make it this year. Thankfully my Co-Blogger and Co-host to all my other challenge decided to join in with this one for 2019. And we have some excited things to add. I do hope you will join us this year!
What is Task it Tuesday? Task it Tuesday is a weekly meme dedicated to the list makers of the blogging/writing world. It’s all about being productive and organized – on your blog and in real life (if you so chose). By sharing our lists we get instant accountability partners and also get ideas of things to add to our lists (or sometimes ways to tackle tasks more efficiently). We hope you’ll join us!

Check out BecauseChallenge.com each week to sign up to Task It Tuesday and let's get organized and be productive together. Task it Tuesday with start the first Tuesday in Jan 2019.
Due to technical difficulties, COYER and Because Challenges have a new -- unexpected -- home here on Blogger. Thankfully our domains still work, so you can still find us by going to coyerchallenge.com or becausechallenges.com/! We lost our previous sign up post, so hopefully we haven't missed anything. And if you signed up, we've also lost the linky, so we'll need you to link up again. Sorry!
This COYER we're going back to basics... again! COYER Winter 2018 will run from December 1, 2018 to March 2, 2019! Mark your calendars!

COYER rules:

Read Your E-Reads! Every book you read MUST be in an electronic format – meaning E-Book or Audiobook. It’s okay to start a book before December 1st, you must be less than half way for it to count then review it during COYER.

The books must be FREE or NEARLY FREE! This includes review books, tour books, NetGalley, Edelweiss, etc. What’s nearly free? No more than $2 for eBooks and no more than $5 for Audiobooks (or the equivalent in your currency). This does NOT include library books, borrowed books, or Kindle Unlimited books.

Announce your participation! This can be a blog post (or if you don’t have a blog – Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Booklikes, Goodreads, Shelfari, etc.) If you want to list books you would like to read, that’s great, but not necessary. The point is to let everyone know you’re committed to COYER, maybe share some goals, and help spread the word. Not sure how to do your post? Check out this example from a previous COYER.

Link up! Link that post (not just your blog homepage) to the linky below. (remember if you signed up before our site crashed we need you to sign up again)

Review & Link Reviews! Your review may be on your blog, Goodreads, Shelfari, Booklikes, etc. Link the review to the Review Linky (which will be available on the kick off post on December 1st).

We are giving away (2) $10 Gift Cards. One is for the review link and the other is for a goody type of giveaway. It will be for readathons, participating, visiting, etc. We will have all the info on the kick off post.

Visit Each Other, Chat & Have Fun!

Read-a-thons

We will have a few read-a-thons this COYER, where we go to summer rules... as in anything goes. Price and format won't matter during those read-a-thons. We'll have the exact dates for the read-a-thons on the Kick off Post December 1st.

Social Media

If you haven't yet, be sure to join our Facebook group! As always we'll have daily games and questions to chat about.
We'll also have 4 twitter parties this time around, dates will be announced on the Kick Off Post. Be sure to follow #COYER for reading updates and for the party!
We'll have our month long Instagram challenge in February, so watch for that photo announcement in January!

Link up!

This will be the official signup linky. Again, if you linked up on the previous site, please take a second to link up again.
